Japan Cherry Blossom (Sakura) Season

The cherry blossom finally bloomed and everybody was out at night around the castle and Kenrokuen park viewing the glorious sights bathed by floodlights in the dark warm evening. The grounds of the castle and park were free to enter and I guess provide a big tourist attraction to the city of Kanazawa. Anyway here is a selection of pics to give you an idea of what it is like.

Here is the cherry blossom reflecting in the water of a pool in Kenrokuen park. This park used to be the garden of the wife of the Samorai lord.

Sun Tanning in Japan

The sun here seems to be quite strong even when it’s behind clouds.

I was disturbed to find my face was looking very red all the time. It eventually dawned on me that it must be sun burn since I have been out jogging and cleaning the river with no sun protection. So I went with my wife to the local supermarkets and drug stores in search of some tanning lotion. The theory being that if I develop a tan, I won’t suffer from a red face all the time.

What we found is that sun tan lotion doesn’t seem to exist! Only sun screen with a minimum factor of 25 but with most being factor 50! So it is all designed to completely eliminate any UV and sun tan. This theory is backed up by ads I see on TV where they have slogans like “UV off”.

Blogs about Japan

I thought it would be a good idea to list other blogs that cover life in Japan:

Hey, if you know any more, please post a link in the comments.

My wife’s site was supposed to be a forum but since it’s 90% her own posts, it is probably best described as a blog. It’s about life in Britain and alot of it is written mostly in Japanese but it deserves more traffic than it gets.

Top Blog – Most Traffic

LOL – I just crafted my title text to attract people searching for most popular blogs with high traffic and even as I type this sentence it’s tempting to ….

Well it’s a secret technique of webmasters that I amĀ  not going to waste your time with here ;-)

OK here’s a hint: post frequently and include words that people search for. But that’s more than a hint, it is the answer like you should never stop typing and posting. It just goes on and on and you can’t stop! Maybe I should stop posting top keywords that rank well for blogs or words like that? Yep, I did enough, it’s time to close.
